how to improve your life pt.1
hey, i know it's hard. you need to work to achieve your desired life, but often people don't know where to start. this post will outline some actionable steps. i recommend keeping a diary or blog to track how you feel when doing these actions.
wake up earlier seriously, you will feel better. by waking up as little as half-an-hour earlier, you have time to set the tone for your day, and more time to workout, organise your day and get some work done.
daily journal this will help you to stay on track, and notice what you are dissatisfied with. before bed, journal about: your goals for tomorrow, what you are grateful for today and one thing that you can improve.
learn a high income skill the three best skills to learn in 2024 are copywriting, social media marketing and short form content. we are living in the digital age! you can learn these through youtube, or free online courses, such as courses from Alison. you must put in the time and effort.
exercise daily it doesn't matter what exercise you do, as long as you move your body for the MINIMUM TWO HOURS each day. walking counts! doing the laundry counts! try to get in a workout or a run, but don;t push yourself too hard.
improve your sleep here's some tips: no caffeine 6 hours before bed. no blue light 1 hour before bed (yes, i am guilty of being on my laptop super late). try to stick to a strict bedtime schedule. seriously, it displays how much you respect yourself.
trying these if you do not already employ them is a GUARANTEE to an improved life.

TEETSEES ASSEMBLE - 1 MORE SILVER TITKET AVAILABLE
Yes, yes, yes, sweet jesus indeed. Although I don't think jesus would want to do much with what is about to go down 🌶️ 👀
My friend whom I've met during WAD has a spare ✨Silver Titket ✨ to sell to you. Yes, YOU!
YOU'VE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE INNER CIRCLE OF PHELL (yes, yes, the moistest of the moist out there), and it is here for you!!!)
In less flamboyant words, @dipandpiptit has ONE SPARE SILVER TITKET TO RESELL FOR BERLIN DATE 🖤
Titket is for 🪅Row 4 Seat 3🪅 (Pre-show and VIP Merch), and she would like to sell at an original price but can agree on a DISCOUNT
Since it's a silver one, you not only can take part in their wonderfully dark and inappropriate pre-show Q&A (like that is not reason enough pfff) but you can also hang out and vibe with other fellow teetsies that include:
@dipandpiptit - THE SELLER - The tag queen. Tags like crazy and it's not grafitti but Tumblr teetti (I should be sorry but I'm actually sorta proud). If you think it's lurking behind the OG posts, just ask any fandom related question and you will go into a Boss Fight of a Phub Trivia Quiz
@goldenpinof - me. Your go-to place for the freshest of the tit-pdates. (Jo's words, not mine)
@cardsagainstdnpg - The phournalist and trusted source of phews. Chronically online yet on top of her Sister Daniella's prayers. She'll recite you words spoken by D-teet or P-teet like they're carved on her ribs and serve you the freshest of the Titea
@nickbipanicnelson - A multifandom queen. You think you've got nothing in common, but just give her 2 minutes, and she'll whip out a common fandom language and persons you can both simp over. Respectfully (I hope not)
@baking-phan-in-my-mind - The unhinged one that tries to appear as though she's on top of the content but will speak in 2014 fandom at times. Try to quiz her on the new stuff, and she'll fail miserably but can offer information that is decade-old like it happened yesterday. She'll probably mention her cat more than one time in a way that will make you question whether it's a full sized adult, a toddler, or a brat sibling
📸 COME HANG OUT WITH THE TITQUE, WITH US 📸
Of course, if you don't want to socialise and just want to buy a Silver Titket, we will be respectful and won't be overbearing and/or can leave you alone (I promise they're not keeping me locked away to say this)
help
ANYWAY
Don't wait a minute longer and DM @dipandpiptit or @goldenpinof for your Silver Titshow Experience™. It's only an arm's length away (don't be freaky about that arm length, tho) (although Sister Daniella would beg to differ) (with emphasis on the beg 🥵)
I'll stop now and go back to my corner of shame
(copywriting by @baking-phan-in-my-mind)

Hello di. I was wondering if you could help me. I am planning to pursue English lit as a stream of studies. I am from the science stream but I really don't have an interest in it. I am from a very modest background and I am aware of the realities that are there in Indian job market. Since you are a professional ( though in STEM) and are very practical, I am asking for some advise from you. I do definitely want to pursue English lit but I also have to keep the economy in mind. So what industries, job openings should I be looking into and what else should I be doing if I am to get a job with a English degree.
Hello, you're very brave and practical! So you definitely want to get into the best college you can rn, the selection effects are harsher when their are fewer jobs. Literature grads who aren't going into academia tend to work in publishing, journalism or marketing. You definitely want to intern early and try to get into prestigious fellowships where you can network with people. Talk to people who are doing the same thing. Stalk a professional who graduated with the same degree you have on LinkedIn. Stalk a professional online who has a job you want already and look at their career progressions. Cold email them and talk. Hearing about jobs that are hiring is half the battle. Knowing someone in the org who might vouch for you or recommend you, even better. And then people wonder why Indian white collar jobs are so caste stratified. Learn to copywrite, edit, maybe even some social media promotion. Have an online portfolio, a blog or a website or some kind of online presence. Submit to literature magazines or journals so you can point to public acceptance of your writing.
The best paid jobs for people who have writing skills are technical documentation roles tho. If you're willing to work with programmers/engineers, how frameworks for generating documentation work, the principles of that, a decent overview of how software is written and a little bit of scripting you're probably likely to have a less precarious career than many other writers. The issue is you'd be competing with writers who often have a technical background and you won't really learn any of these skills in college. You'll need to find a first opportunity to take a chance om you honestly. There's courses online you can bridge the gap with.
Maybe I'm very off base though so hopefully @wherestoriescomefrom who is a real literature grad in india who can weigh in.
edit: look at the replies also!

is copywriting a good job to look into as a writer? im job hunting and i see quite a few openings online but im worried the work will be extremely dreary
i didnt set out to be a copywriter -- frankly when i graduated i had no idea what i wanted to do. i spent about three and a half years freelancing and doing gig work and i'd make like 140 bucks a month on a good year. i happened to apply for a copywriting job among a sea of other entry level things -- social media coordinator, communications associate etc. and i feel SOOOOO fucking blessed that i fell into copywriting
in terms of money: copywriting is very lucrative if you get the experience for it and stay the course. my very first position with no prior copywriting experience (just freelance writing experience) paid me 35/hr. starting off you'll probably make about 50k but moving up the hierarchy can pay a LOT. with four years of experience, during my job hunt i would say the vast majority of the positions i interviewed were within a six figure salary band. moving up the hierarchy, lots of senior copywriters make six figs, and some associate creative directors make over 200k. you can definitely live comfortably as a career copywriter if you play your cards right.
in terms of work: personally i love copywriting, but it's an arm of marketing. if you cant stomach writing marketing materials or learning how marketing works, it might not be for you, but i kinda make it into a game in my head. there's a lot of different kinds of copy -- short form (landing pages, social media blurbs, headlines, emails, product descriptions etc) and long form (white papers, SEO articles/blog posts, ebooks). i would aim to find a copywriting position that will have a wide scope of copy types, because that helps cultivate a well-rounded resume (i.e. shoot for a job that'll have you writing landing pages, emails and blog posts etc over one that's just headlines and captions).
there is also B2C (business to customer, as in marketing a consumer product to individuals) and B2B (business to business, as in marketing a product like mailchimp to a business). i mostly do B2C, but I also do B2B now. it's fine to start with just one, but i'd say right now demand is very high for B2B
the good thing about copywriting is that basically any industry requires it in some capacity. i've worked predominantly in entertainment and digital media, but right now i'd say the biggest demand is in healthcare, fintech and SaaS (software). i freelance for a telehealth company right now in part because i want to make my portfolio more well-rounded. but as i said, nearly any industry can need one -- hospitality, beauty, fashion, retail, nonprofits, anything that is a business that needs to be advertised. when i started, i worked in television, which meant my days largely consisted of watching shows before air and writing episode descriptions. i had a lot of fun!
personally, i dont find my work dreary. sometimes it can be a LITTLE tedious if i'm writing something more technical/internal, but the whole point of copywriting is to figure out how to entice someone to check something out, which means puzzling out how to write something fun and engaging. if you want something less marketing-focused, i would look into getting into technical writing. this is basically writing informational texts and guides for technology and similar things. it pays VERY well and is usually in high demand, but i will say it's definitely more tedious than copywriting.
in short: yes i love copywriting and you can be very financially stable in it! i'd argue it's one of the most financially comfortable day jobs for someone with writing experience. happy hunting anon!!!! i hope u get what ur after

Hi Zak, would you recommend majoring in something you enjoy doing?
I enjoy writing (and beta reading), and plan to major in something like liberal arts or creative writing, but I'm not sure if I should.
I feel like I might get burnt out if I choose to major in one of that, but also, I'm worried about my future job prospects.
I've heard of people who majored in fine arts and end up having to do a job they dislike cuz no money for the work, and idk if it's worth it. :(
~ 📝 (is this taken?)
hey there notes!anon (will be tagging u as this!!), ty for the ask!!
i'd like to preface everything im going to say with like, this is my Own opinion based on my own experience, and your experiences may differ, so not everything i say may apply to you and your circumstances. im frankly always surprised when i get asks asking for advice on life stuff, because i myself definitely do not have my life together in any way. still, i hope something in my perspective can be useful somehow to you
i personally am not sure/am not knowledgeable about a liberal arts major (because my college didnt have a course like that) but i CAN talk about the effects/benefits/cons of a creative writing major because i myself am a creative writing graduate
and first off, job availability is not as big of a problem for CW graduates as many people think. lots of industries need creative writers. it may not be the industry you expected or originally wanted, but the prospects are definitely there. when i was job hunting, off the top of my head, here were the jobs i applied to (and thus felt somewhat qualified for, with my CW degree): advertising copywriter, SEO writer, english teacher/tutor, writing for print magazines, writing game guides for online websites, writing scripts for games, copyediting, corporate copywriting. and that is very much the tip of the iceberg, because there are a lot of jobs that i overlooked that i couldve qualified for but i wasnt personally interested in.
now on the topic of burnout......i'll be real with you: no matter what you major in in college, burnout will happen if you dont adequately manage yourself.
burnout is not exclusive to creative endeavors, it's an effect of too much work + lack of control (perceived or real) + a whole lot of other factors that are VERY common to experience in college. essentially, college is a CAUTION: BURNOUT PRONE AREA simply due to how it's designed/structured. so no matter what course you choose, it will be a danger. so it's less of picking a course and more of how you protect yourself against burnout that will help you more in the long run
that being said, i got burnt out a TON when i was in college because of my mental illness(TM) and also because i was generally bad at pacing myself and taking care of myself. but what got me through was my sheer dedication to writing.
one thing about college is that i think you should pick something that you like enough that even when you feel like you hate it to the high heavens (because you definitely might, what with how stressful college requirements are), there is still something stronger about your tie to that course that pulls you through
for me, it was personal passion and commitment to writing. writing has always been the one thing i knew i wanted to do since the beginning of time, so no matter how much i hated it on all nighters i was working on my thesis manuscript, i pulled through
essentially, to prevent/survive burnout: manage yourself + pick whatever course you want where the "but" in "oh my god i hate this course, BUT..." is a strong one. if you have no strong ones as of the moment, thats alright. you can build it up as you go along
now on the topic of "working a job they dislike" i will be real with you once more..............this is a more common reality of life than having a job you do like. i am a statistical anomaly in the sense that i generally enjoy my job, but a lot of the time (based on what my irl friends go through with their jobs) you end up with a job you didnt expect you'd get into and dont necessarily enjoy. but....it pays the bills. it pays for you to enjoy the stuff you do when youre not working. and thats a valid way to get through life as well.
life after college, contrary to what people want you to believe, is not 100% taken up by your job. or at least it shouldnt be. or at least you should work to make sure it isnt. this might be, again, because im coming from a privileged perspective of having the time to pursue other things like hobbies and interests in addition to having a job, but if you also have the resources to do so, then definitely do so.
all in all: "would you recommend majoring in something you enjoy doing?" it.....depends. i recommend majoring in something you feel strongly enough about that you will continue to do it even when it's not enjoyable 100% of the time. but dont worry about jobs, because a CW degree is definitely useful in the job market. and dont worry about burnout, because that exists in all courses anyway, not just CW.
that is!!......all i think i have to say about ur q, i think
i hope some part of this can be helpful, notes!anon. and im wishing you the best in your decision!!! :D
#notes!anon#asks#my job hunting era was a wild ride. remember when i got a job interview for writing romance games?#wild given what my current interest and fixation is HAHAHA

Affiliate marketing has become one of the most popular ways to make money online, promising a stream of passive income that can grow with little effort. But is it really that simple? If you’re new to affiliate marketing or even a seasoned pro, you may not know the full story. What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is an online business model where you earn a commission by promoting other people's products or services. It’s a performance-based strategy: when someone clicks your unique affiliate link and makes a purchase, you get paid. Sounds simple, right? Well, there’s more to it than just placing links on your website or social media.
How Affiliate Marketing Really Works
1.Choosing the Right Niche: Not all niches are created equal. Some are highly competitive, while others may not generate enough interest to be profitable. The key is to find a niche that has a passionate audience and high-ticket products that can offer substantial commissions.
2.Finding High-Ticket Offers: One of the secrets to making serious money in affiliate marketing is promoting high-ticket items—products or services that offer large commissions per sale. These could be premium courses, software, or exclusive memberships. The higher the price, the bigger your commission.
3.Creating Valuable Content: Successful affiliate marketers don’t just slap links on a page. They create high-quality content that provides value to their audience. This could be in the form of blog posts, product reviews, tutorials, or even videos. The goal is to build trust with your audience, so when they see your affiliate link, they’re more likely to click and purchase.
4.Driving Traffic to Your Content: Without traffic, your affiliate links won’t generate any sales. There are several ways to drive traffic to your content: SEO (Search Engine Optimization), social media marketing, email marketing, and paid advertising. Each has its pros and cons, but SEO and social media offer excellent opportunities for free, organic traffic.
5.Converting Clicks into Sales: It’s not enough to get people to click on your affiliate links; you need them to convert into sales. This is where persuasive copywriting and strategic placement of links come into play. Additionally, understanding your audience’s pain points and presenting your affiliate product as the solution can significantly increase conversion rates.

The Challenges No One Talks About
While affiliate marketing can be lucrative, it’s not without its challenges. Here are some of the things most people won’t tell you:
It Takes Time: Building a successful affiliate marketing business doesn’t happen overnight. It requires consistent effort in creating content, driving traffic, and optimizing your strategies. Patience is key.
High Competition: Popular niches often have fierce competition. Standing out from the crowd requires creativity, niche expertise, and a deep understanding of your audience.
Constant Learning: The digital landscape is always evolving. What worked last year might not work today. Staying updated on the latest trends, tools, and strategies is crucial for long-term success.
Dependence on Third Parties: Your income depends on the companies you promote. Changes in their policies, commission structures, or even the viability of their products can impact your earnings.
Proven Strategies for Affiliate Marketing Success
To succeed in affiliate marketing, you need more than just knowledge; you need a strategy. Here are some tips to help you thrive:
Build an Email List: Your email list is one of your most valuable assets. It allows you to promote products directly to your audience and build a relationship with them over time. Offer a freebie in exchange for their email to start building your list.
Leverage Social Proof: People are more likely to purchase something if they see others doing it. Use testimonials, reviews, and case studies to build credibility and trust with your audience.
Experiment with Different Traffic Sources: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Explore multiple traffic sources—like Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and SEO—so that your business isn’t reliant on just one.
Focus on Long-Term Relationships: Successful affiliate marketers don’t chase quick sales. They focus on building long-term relationships with their audience and the companies they promote. This creates sustainable income and opens up opportunities for exclusive deals or partnerships.
Monitor and Optimize: Regularly review your analytics to see which content, traffic sources, and offers are performing the best. Use this data to refine your strategy, optimize your content, and increase your conversion rates.
